One of the drivers, James Thomas, 69, died at the scene after police said he crossed the center line and overturned before hitting another car. The car, which initially avoided Thomas’s truck, crashed into a fourth car.

According to the preliminary investigation, a Chevy Silverado truck was traveling westbound on River Road when it crossed into the oncoming lane and rear-ended a Lexus SUV. The truck continued west and rear-ended a Ford sedan. That pushed the Ford into the eastbound lane, where the Audi SUV collided with the Ford and crashed into a guardrail. The truck continued westbound, where it struck a Chevrolet SUV waiting to turn onto Westhampton Parkway. The truck went down an embankment and flipped onto its roof at S. Ridge Road and River Road, where the truck driver crawled out of the vehicle.

Henrico resident Larry Tusky lives just 20 yards from the scene. He said that he heard the commotion and ran outside.

Virginia State Police officers responded to Route 600/Manning Road in Brunswick County on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 1:44 p.m. for a single car accident.

According to police, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on Manning Road at a high rate of speed. The driver of the car, 73-year-old Neil L. Jones, lost control in a sharp turn and went off the road. Jones then overcorrected, left the road and crashed into an embankment. Then, to stop on the road, the car crashed into several trees and a mailbox.

Neither Weaver nor Jones were wearing seat belts. There was no evidence that alcohol was a factor in this accident.

Three people were killed Thursday after a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Dale City, Virginia, that blocked the road for nearly seven hours.

Tractor Trailer Driver Killed In I 495 Crash

Virginia State Police said a 2008 Dodge Avenger sedan was traveling northbound on I-95 when state troopers attempted to stop the vehicle at speeds of 80 mph shortly after 4:30 p.m. .

Police said the Dodge was northbound on I-95 and entered the express lanes, which are open to southbound traffic only, and went through the three lighted Express Lanes gates at the entrance.

As the Dodge entered the express lanes, it struck a southbound Ford Ranger “head-on” and went through a guardrail. Two other cars crashed into the Dodge, causing it to catch fire.
