What Is Intelligent Access Car Battery

What Is Intelligent Access Car Battery – Two Ford dealers put their hands up and said, “I don’t know how to fix this,” so I’m hoping someone can help.

Yesterday when I got in my car (42M, almost 3 years old) it said the battery in the key was low. I stopped at Interstate Battery and they figured out how to replace the FOB button battery (with the help of a YouTube video). Unfortunately, the message pops up after starting the car. I even took off the plastic part of the round handle and inserted the FOB directly (the other dealer said to give it a try as it may reset if you insert it right). After two stops and then starts, the message remains. The car starts fine. The doors open well. No problem driving. Is there any way to reset it (like the oil change reset sequence I do every once in a while) to get rid of this message? Both dealers said they would “take a look” at the car’s introduction. Read on… CHARGE ME $$ for trying so many things.

I may be a woman, but I know computers and I can follow reasonable instructions. I’m updating MyFord Touch without assistance. I can easily control the devices in my car. The sales guy also convinced me that my iPhone might be the culprit. Really? I always plug it in when I’m in the car and it’s never been a problem.

Can anyone give me some simple advice or am I just stuck wasting hours of hard earned money?

What settings will I lose on MyFord Touch this way? I customized Sirius stations, sound alerts, custom wallpapers and much more. How long should the battery be disconnected? Thank you.

I’m not sure what you’re missing, but it is known that these keychain batteries are not always sold fully charged. You can also try replacing the battery in the remote control with another one. Walmart is selling a 2-pack for $4 in the watches section.

Suss6052 said Remove the battery, it should reset the computer and clear the message. Click to expand… Bad advice. Never “reset your computer” arbitrarily.

Cabin: Don’t worry. The remote control battery is good and the message disappears. (I should know because I experienced exactly the same thing) Click to expand… you mean the message that you replaced the battery in the remote is gone?

Cabigon – How long does it take for messages to disappear from the computer? Looks like you have the same make/model as my Focus. It’s been four days now and the message still appears every time I start the car. The batteries installed were new 10 year old batteries so I’m not worried about them being outdated. Both FOBs give me the same message. Disconnecting the battery seems like a good idea to me.

OP! Try going to the info and system status menu in the thumb menu. I think you can reset it from there. You may need to click OK to reset it. I’m not next to the car because I’ll check.

Abstang says: Replacing the battery in the keys didn’t get rid of the message, so yesterday I decided to remove the battery. I disconnected the positive terminal for a few minutes and then reconnected it. The message is gone and everything is working fine. Click to expand… However, I haven’t had this problem yet.

I’m telling you to buy a new battery. I know a few people who buy fully charged or undamaged ones. Shelf life/storage time doesn’t always mean a good battery.

I was scratching my head at first, but decided to give it some time and see what happens.

I imagine there might be a way to reset it (other than removing the battery), but I haven’t bothered to check.

I really don’t like resetting all modules (especially PCM) unless there is a very good reason.

Kabigon said: Please read my previous answer. I really don’t like resetting all modules (especially PCM) unless there is a very good reason. Another option is to pull the module fuse that needs to be reset (e.g. MFT/Sync reset). Click to expand… Pulling the fuse wouldn’t help reset the MFT on my car, but it would cut power to the affected subsystem and cause it to restart. while driving, it did not reset and after the accident it returned to its previous state. I opted for a different USB drive in case the original, which was working fine on a PC with a basic sync system, stopped indexing and caused me to go into a capture/reboot loop every time I used the MFT.

Just copying and pasting the files to a clean drive worked, some drivers were fine but the original one was broken.

I don’t really like the idea of pulling the battery out, but it was a useful thing and speeds up the process at the cost of possibly losing some live memory on other systems that prefer not to reset.

Just wanted to quickly jump into a few things. I do not recommend removing the battery (for your vehicle) unless at the dealership. And since the SYNC/MFT system is not connected to the Smart Access Key (IAK), there is no need to pull the fuse for the SYNC system. If you have any questions or concerns about IAK, please send a private message to Todd. Here is the link to his profile:

I had this problem last weekend with my C-Max Titanium 2011 and after replacing the batteries in the remote the error message remained.

I took the car to a local Ford dealer who eventually had to do a BCM software update. This solved the alarm problem.

If the key battery needs to be replaced, there is no need to go to the dealership and reset the message on the trip computer. Just use the arrow keys on the steering wheel to navigate to the info menu -> system status and press OK. reset button.
