When talking about engine speed, the first thing you need to be aware of is average piston speed, which is a function of twice the stroke and revolutions per minute divided by 60. Fenske notes that in internal combustion engines, average piston speed rarely exceeds 60 mph and there is no difference on high or low rpm engines. For a high revving engine, you need a short stroke because that means each piston will travel a shorter distance to reach the ideal average speed.

I wonder if this is normal? What is it? How easily can it be replaced if needed?
Pretty sure it’s the intercooler top pipe/tube (on the gen2 so it’s different than mine). However, it is normal for it to flex when accelerating. There are aftermarket tubes with higher stiffness or even stiff tubes that can be interchanged with the gen 1. One of the gen 2 will be there to confirm. I don’t know if there is anything for gen2 though.
