Check Your Tickets: Winning $18m Lotto 47 Ticket Unclaimed In Michigan
LANSING, Mich. – Stopping a Michigan lottery ticket at her favorite store led a Waterford woman to win the $70 million Powerball jackpot.
Christy Davis, 40, matched all the winning numbers – 14-47-54-55-68 and Powerball 25 – in the February 12 drawing. He purchased the winning ticket at Huron Plaza Winery, located at 694 West Huron Street in Pontiac.
“My friend and I stopped by the store that day to buy lottery tickets,” Davis said. “I bought some scratch cards and decided to get a Mega Millions ticket and a Powerball ticket as well.”
“I was at work the next morning when a friend FaceTimed me to ask if I had checked my ticket because the winning ticket had been purchased at Huron Plaza Liquor.

“I hung up the phone and went to my truck to get the ticket. After checking it out, all I could do was scream. Everyone from work came running to see me. When I calmed down my boss made sure I got a ride home because I couldn’t drive when I found out I was a millionaire.
Davis, a mother of two and grandmother of one, talked about her big win in a video interview with lottery officials during Gov. Whitmer’s “stay home, stay safe” order in April.
“I remember when Christy was a teenager, we were at a family gathering and we were talking about if we were ever going to win the big lottery,” said Davis’ mother, Patricia. “He said, ‘I’ll fix the car.’ Now he never has to worry about a broken car again.”
“I’m so happy for Kristi and her family,” said Yusuf Anto, owner of Huron Plaza Winery. “We are happy to sell this winning ticket and I look forward to sharing the $50,000 bonus commission with my employees and church, and making some improvements to my store.”

Davis chose to receive his $70 million jackpot as a one-time payment of approximately $50 million, rather than 30 annual payments for the full amount. After withholding taxes, he received about $36 million.
With his winnings, Davis plans to buy a new house, a new vehicle, and then invest the rest.
“The victory made me feel very anxious, grateful and relieved at the same time. I don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck anymore,” Davis said.
Davies is the second Waterford player to win a multi-million dollar lottery jackpot. In 2017, Kevin and Stephanie Blake shared a $42 million Mega Millions jackpot with a Rhode Island lottery player. Blake bought his winning ticket at 7-Eleven, located at 3461 Airport Road in Waterford.

Davis is the fourth Michelin player to win the Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot in the past five years.
In 2012, Donald Lawson, Lapierre, won $337 million playing the Powerball game. Lawson’s jackpot holds the record for the largest lottery payout in Michigan.

LANSING, MI — As the announcement surrounding the Friday, July 29, $1.28 billion Mega Millions jackpot reaches a fever pitch, millions of lottery players are buying tickets for their chance at the big cash prize. .
A Michigan Lottery Player Found A Forgotten $242,256 Ticket In His Wallet
However, if you’re not someone who plays the lottery often, or, in some cases, never before, knowing what to do, how to play, and where to get tickets can be difficult. Especially if there’s a line of seasoned players behind you at the local gas station and you don’t know what you’re doing.
Don’t worry, we’re here to show you how to play the game, what you need to do to win, and how you can buy tickets without leaving your home.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery that is played in 45 states, Washington and the US Virgin Islands. Players must choose five white numbers from 1-70 and one golden number between 1-25. If you match all five white numbers and the golden ball, you win the big prize. You can also win prizes just for matching a white and gold ball or you can win or cash back just by matching a gold ball. The rewards get bigger depending on the match combination you make.
Each card with a set of numbers – five white and one gold – costs $2. So five sets would total $10. You can also add a “multiplier” option for an additional $1 per ticket which guarantees that you will multiply your winnings from double to 10x if you win. This means that a $10 win can become $30 if you play the multiplier and the 3k option comes up.
