“Try to get enough sleep, eat well when you can, and spend time outdoors, even if it’s just a 15 to 20-minute walk every day,” says Kushmider. Qualified faculty, staff and colleagues are available to help struggling students access the resources and support they need when coping with burnout, depression, anxiety or other mental health crises. Students should contact a professor, counselor, university counseling center, or case management office for assistance. “They tend to have a conversation knowing the human on the other end is navigating their own health and wellness,” Kushmider said.
